Hook Head LightThis enormous lighthouse (notice the 3-storey keepers houses) is one of the oldest in the world. A light at this location has been in operation since at least 800 A.D. except for about 100 years in the 17th century when pirates were too much of a problem. This structure was built by William le Marshall (the younger) around 1210 A.D.
